From Designer Sibella Court:
My love of knot tying is no secret and so my blacksmith Saul of Colo Forge worked the humble reef knot into the next series of product in our co-designed Special Edition Smith-made range.
Much like its namesake, the Reef Knot Hook is a great foundational yet decorative piece to start with when designing a hardware story for any space.
Part of the special edition black smith range co-designed by Sibella Court and Colo Forge.
DIMENSIONS | 20cm high x 10cm wide x 7.5cm deep
FINISH | blackened steel
GOOD FOR | wall hook
WHERE TO USE | indoor, minimal exposure to water
INSTALLATION NOTES | Comes with screws. Screws aren’t self-tapping so we recommend giving them a head start by pre-drilling. Due to the handmade nature of this product, dimensions may vary slightly and it’s recommended to measure each fitting individually before fixing. When hanging this hook, first mark the screw holes on the wall. Drill the top screw into the wall then slide the hook up so that the top screw slips into its slot. Then fix the hook onto the wall by the bottom screw. This will prevent the hook from twisting to and fro.
CARE NOTES | will age over time. We recommend prolonging the life of the product with Penetrol
Designed in Australia, made in India
Our products are hand forged using honest & humble materials. Their imperfections, patinas and variations are intrinsic to the underlying importance of craftsmanship within India.
If the product is made from brass, it will patina & age over time. This ever-changing characteristic makes the object even more beautiful.
If the product is blackened steel, Linseed oil or Penetrol can be used to keep it rich & dark in colour. This will also prevent & remove any rust which may build up over time in coastal or wet environments. Dot a rag with Penetrol & massage into the steel for 3-5 minutes & leave to dry. We recommend a few coats over the life of the product.
If the product is crafted with raw leather, it is designed to age & darken over time. We love when the story of the user & their environment is imprinted on our products. Oxalic acid can be used to wipe down raw leather to remove any dark stains or spills. A little goes a long way!
