About the artist: Hi Im Lara Ford! I’m an artist and mural artist. I am New Zealand born to Dutch parents and have spent my life living between cultural Island life and my European heritage. Growing up with cold European winters and living on Mt Taranaki, I spent a lot of time around snow, so painting images of ‘where I’d rather be’ by the fireplace (memories of sunny days, white sand beaches, palm trees and tropical humid nights) became my escape. I now live in Port Kennedy in beautiful Western Australia with my husband and dog Georgia. I am spoilt for sunny days, white sand beaches that roll into the lively Indian Ocean, palm trees and hot nights with the sound of the ocean to lull me to sleep.
